Tips For Front Yard Garden Design

A front yard garden

Front yard garden design is crucial to your wellbeing! This may seem a bold statement but when you consider the fact that you will see your front yard at least twice a day you will begin to understand why I chose to start this article like this. The two important occasions when you will see your front yard is when you first set off for work in the morning and when you return home at night. Think about it for a minute and you will realize that a well planned and beautiful front yard garden design will help you start the day in a good mood and also help settle your mood in the early evening. So my very first tip is to plan your garden so that you get the maximum benefit from it for as much of the year as possible.

Your front yard garden design can also influence the way in which other people perceive you. Nearly all front yards are openly on view to all those that pass by. If you close off the yard with a tall fence people will ponder why you would desire such privacy. If you really want to exclude the view from others consider planting fast growing shrubs which can be closely pruned to create a privacy barrier which will look far less imposing to others.

Imagine if you had an unkempt front yard, littered with rubbish and foul smelling, what sort of impression would this give and what sort of person would others assume lives in such a house? While this is the extreme I use it to show how a beautiful looking and gorgeous smelling front yard garden design can make people think the exact opposite. The simple addition of something like a lilac bush to a yard that only consists of a lawn can have a profound effect both in sight and smell.

Tips For The Busy Person

I hope the above tips have wetted your appetite and you are now considering your front yard garden design with a view to creating one. Now many people are extremely busy these days and this is the main reason why so many yards are little more than a patch of grass (and some which are just paved over with stone or gravel). However it is possible to create a simple design that takes little work to create and even less to maintain.

In a later article we will look more closely at ways in which you can create a maintenance free garden but there are a few simple front yard garden design ideas which save time and energy such as not having a lawn. Why not plant the area with a low growing evergreen shrub? Why not use a quality gravel with a few evergreens popping through here and there. The list is endless really but just these two demonstrate how easy it is to have a beautiful front yard garden that is easy to create and requires little or no maintenance.
