Considerations For A Four Tier Garden Fountain
In the previous article we looked at tall tiered water fountains and one of the most popular types is the four tier garden fountain which is usually in a classic design, similar to that shown in the photograph above, but also available in more modern designs. This article takes a look at this particular style of water fountain in more detail and looks at some of the points you need to consider before you have one installed in your yard.
A Four Tier Garden Fountain Adds Grandeur
A four tiered fountain adds a certain amount of grandeur and prestige to any garden but the very first thing you need to think about before purchasing one is to ask yourself the question "is this fountain really suitable for my yard". I must admit that this sounds too obvious to be true but I have seen some of the finest examples of this type of fountain in the most ridiculous situations. It is amazing at how you can suddenly transform a fine artistic fountain into something of ridicule if you place it incorrectly. The worst example of this that I have witnessed was the placing of a huge four tier garden fountain of white stone placed in the smallest of front yards directly in front of the window. Not only did it take over the whole yard but it must have obscured the owners view. The local gossip was that the guy had won it in a competition but I very much doubt it.
While the above example may be the most extreme that anybody could imagine but it highlights something of an all too common problem. If you really must have a four tier garden fountain in a small yard buy one of a suitable size. Look at your design before you look at the fountain. Draw a few sketches and diagrams and, maybe, even buy some garden design software which is capable of outputting a three dimensional, photo realistic, image so that you can judge the size of your desired fountain correctly. Once you have the perfect garden design you should know the exact size of the fountain you need to buy. Only then should you take a look at the garden fountains available and get the one which is closest in size to the one in your garden plan.
If you follow this one piece of advice you will not only have a more beautiful yard but you will also save yourself some cash as a large four tier garden fountain can prove expensive, especially if it is of stone (rather than resin, fiberglass or plastic).
