Bamboo Gazebo

So What Makes The Bamboo Gazebo So Great?

Hey, any gazebo can enhance the beauty and usefulness of a garden of virtually any size, from the largest suburban yards to the very small urban back yards to roof gardens. However the humble bamboo gazebo has a number areas in which it really does serve as the perfect garden structure. One place where a gazebo made of bamboo is extremely useful is in the already mentioned roof garden due to the simple fact that the structure can be extremely light and yet it can still manage to look very similar to similarly styled wooden gazebos. So, if you are looking for an alternative to canvas gazebos then bamboo could be the answer.

Another major plus is that it is not too difficult to construct a bamboo gazebo. Either from scratch or from a kit you will find that construction is able to be completed by just one guy (though having a second, or third pair of hands always helps). There are a couple of problems in getting somebody else to construct it for you and this is mainly due to the fact that not many builders have worked with bamboo often enough to become proficient so the price they charge may be more than if they could build it quickly. Also you may not be able to source the type of bamboo you need so you may have to pay excess carriage to get it delivered, or you can buy a kit.

When To Use A Bamboo Gazebo

Of course, if you are creating an oriental garden such as a Japanese or Chinese garden then the material of choice for any garden structures has to be bamboo. In a Japanese water garden which just consists of rocks, water and only a handful of carefully chosen plants the addition of a bamboo gazebo and bridge can make all the difference in making the garden appear authentic.

There are other situations where bamboo gazebos work well. As we have mentioned this type of gazebo is perfect for roof gardens or any other situation where a lightweight alternative to a heavy wooden version is required. A bamboo gazebo can really look the part on the beach or in a garden which opens out onto one, however bamboo gazebos can be used in almost any type of garden which has not been designed to a specific style such as formal gardens. Bamboo can blend very well with a wide variety of plants and trees but looks especially great when placed close by or next to living bamboo or Japanese maples.
