Gazebo Replacement Cover

Gazebos are a great thing to have in any garden and are most appreciated when your garden is at its most beautiful, when you can site enjoying your surroundings while avoiding light showers or extreme sunshine. Gazebos are also great for various types of event from a family garden wedding to a simple garden dinner party with friends. Virtually all, but the extremely portable versions, are able to withstand the pressures of changing weather and seasons but, even if you have a fantastic maintenance regime, the time will come when your gazebo looks past its best. At this time you will be pleased to hear that, for many gazebos, you can simply order a gazebo replacement cover from the company who originally supplied your gazebo or from a variety of other manufacturers (who produce a variety of covers for common gazebo styles and sizes).
In the previous article we took a look at gazebo covers and in this article we shall look at caring for your covers and what to do when you need a gazebo replacement cover.
Types of Gazebo Replacement Cover
There is a wide selection of covers available to buy in a wide range of colors and textiles. The most common type are the canvas covers which can be purchased in plain tan colors but also bold and vivid colors such as orange and pink. All but the fully enclosed gazebo can benefit from a gazebo replacement cover as they are produced to fit many different sizes and shapes of gazebo and some are even able to be used on a number of types.
As you can see from the photograph above the gazebo shown is a rather ornate metal or iron gazebo which would look fantastic without anything added but, with the addition of netting, the use has been greatly extended. Many of the replacement covers available can easily be used on gazebos other than the one for which they were designed, especially if they are really only drapes which can be easily attached (as above).
Buying A Gazebo Replacement Cover
The main thing to consider when buying a replacement cover for your gazebo, is the size you require. If you are going to be using them mainly for decoration, in a similar way to that shown in the above photo, then all you really need to know is the height of your gazebo. However, if you wish to enclose your gazebo with the replacement cover you will need to know its height and the width of each and every panel (these are usually uniform).
Another consideration is the material/textile used. Not all replacement covers are the same and different materials have their own advantages and disadvantages.
Canvas: Canvas is a common choice but, more often than not, you will need to spray it regularly with water repellant to ensure that it remains shower proof.
Netting: Netting is another popular choice when purchasing a gazebo replacement cover but these should be considered as offering only light protection from rain, wind and sunshine. Of course netting is great for keeping out mosquitos and other bugs and this is often the main reason to buy it.
Vinyl: Vinyl is, really, the only truly waterproof material available. It is available in a reasonable range of colors but it varies greatly in quality. Sometimes one vinyl replacement cover seems much cheaper than another similar one but, upon closer inspection, it is usually the case that the cheaper option uses a much lighter grade of vinyl. While there are times when a light vinyl cover is perfect it should always be kept in mind that this type will not be as hard wearing as a heavier grade of vinyl.
