The Gazebo Swing

 

Throughout this section we have sung the praises of the gazebo and we have explained some of the many benefits of adding one to you yard, backyard or garden. We have also taken a look at the various types of garden gazebo available to buy or build yourself but sometimes they may not be the ideal addition to a garden design. Maybe the reason may be expense or the simple reason may be that you back yard is simply too small for such a construction. In such cases an alternative solution may be the addition of a gazebo swing and this shall be the topic of the following article.

What Is A Gazebo Swing?

A gazebo swing is simply a garden swing which has the shelter of a roof in the style of a gazebo. As you can see from the photograph at the top of this page, gazebo swings are not incredibly huge structures and can easily be incorporated into even the smallest back yard garden design.

Gazebo swings are great places to sit and enjoy your garden. They can be enjoyed by the young and old alike, but it is often the case that it will bring the child out of even the oldest member of the family. It really is great fun relaxing on a gazebo swing and it can be a great place to grab a revitalizing nap.

Gazebo swings are usually constructed of wood with a basic small gazebo design incorporating a wooden swing with wood slats for the the seat. It is possible to buy other designs but wood is the most common. Sometimes the gazebo aspect may be of a different material, such as wrought iron, but the swing itself is, nearly always, made of wood.

When deciding where to place your gazebo swing it is important to keep in mind that it is best not to install it too close to other permanent items such as a wall or tree, the simple reason being that you will need to allow space for the swing to swing freely. Another important factor to consider is that you will have to make sure that it is placed in the optimum position for enjoying your garden, ie you will have be certain that it is placed where the best view of your garden can be obtained.

Other than the two points mentioned above the addition of a gazebo swing is a relatively easy task to complete. Even if it is supplied in kit form they are very simple to construct (just follow the included instructions).
