The Hexagon Gazebo

Many folk place gazebos in their backyards with the aim of creating a place in which they can enjoy their beautiful gardens while avoiding some of the negative aspects, such as UV radiation, poor weather etc. A gazebo is an excellent place in which to relax and meditate but some folk prefer to use it to entertain others and a hexagon gazebo is the perfect design for wonderful outdoor dinner parties.
The Popularity Of Gazebos
The garden gazebo is, today, on of the most popular additions to the yard and the manufactures have worked hard to create various designs to satisfy a broad range of needs. Incredibly popular are the portable gazebos which can be erected fairly easily as they are usually provided in the form of panels, of various materials, which simply need to be fixed together. Other types of portable gazebos are little more than a tubular steel frame upon which you drape a gazebo cover (usually made of canvas but also available in types of man made materials such as polyester).
If you are looking for something a little out of the ordinary then it is possible to find interesting designs both ready made, in kit form or plans. Out of all these alternatives the hexagon gazebo is one of the more popular designs. Usually provided as a kit of six waterproof side panels and a roof these kits have also been sprayed with a fire retardant.
Like other gazebos, the hexagon gazebo can be constructed of panels made from a variety of materials and which you use will depend on whether the construction is to be permanent or not and if you want extra privacy. Obviously constructing one made of hardwood (or specially treated softwood) takes more time and effort than throwing up a canvas gazebo so wooden gazebos should really be treated as a permanent fixture. There are plenty of different woods available for such a design but it may surprise you to learn that there is also a reasonable choice of textiles. As well as the canvas being available in a wide range of colors you can also get various types of netting, which is best used just to keep out bugs, but remember that the sunlight and air will travel through easily.
A big, solid wood, hexagon gazebo will, most probably, set you back a fair amount of cash and is considerably more expensive than the canvas alternatives. However, if you want one and are, at this time, unable to afford the expense and would rather not buy a canvas gazebo it might well be worth seeing if you can purchase a small kit, say of four panels, to which you can add additional panels, as and when you can afford them. Maybe after you have increased your gazebo to six sides you might well decide that your yard will benefit by a further increase in sides.
Such garden structures are incredibly useful and the additional corners, offered by hexagonal designs, can extend this usefulness still further.
