The Portable Gazebo

A portable gazebo

Throughout this section of Landscaping Info 4U we have been looking at the many advantages of having a gazebo in your back yard or front yard garden. We have also taken a look at some of the many types of gazebos and, for this article, we shall be taking a closer look at the portable gazebo.

Most of the gazebos we have featured so far, in this section, are of a permanent nature and are more useful in the larger garden but what can you do if you only have a small yard with a petite lawn? Well you can always redesign your garden to accommodate a permanent gazebo or you could consider using a portable gazebo which can be packed up and placed into storage until the next time you need it.

The Advantages Of A Portable Gazebo

Uses: Portable gazebos can be used for a multitude of things as they are often virtually the same as those which are permanent. However portable examples are able to be used in circumstances which would not be suitable for permanent ones, one such example could be taking your portable gazebo with you to the beach or on vacation (imagine doing that with a huge wooden one!).

Ease of Use: Portable gazebos have been specially designed so that they are extremely easy to erect. Comprehensive instructions are included to ensure that they are erected correctly within the shortest possible time. Do not try saving time by just putting one up without the instructions, you may end up regretting it and it could even take more time in the long run.

Pricing: You will find that a portable gazebo (of the type shown above) are far less costly than those which are permanent structures. However, there are times when some portable gazebos are more expensive than others, though this generally applies to very intricate designs or those which are barely portable under the best of conditions (such as large wooden types).

Kits: It is far easier to find ready made kits for portable gazebos than it is for permanent ones (which usually have to be erected by professionals or, at least, somebody who is very good at carpentry).

The Disadvantages Of A Portable Gazebo

Storage: Gazebos are great things to have in any garden they can be used for any number of things including extra storage space but, sadly, with portable gazebos you will need to have extra storage in which to store it once it is packed away.

Durability: Although a portable gazebo is usually made of highly durable materials, which can withstand some of the forces of nature, sadly they are nowhere near as tough as permanent gazebos and, in periods of foul weather, they should be dismantled and packed away. When you pack away your gazebo it is extremely important that you ensure that every speck of water has been dried as any moisture present, during storage, will cause metals to rust and textiles to develop mould and mildew.
