The Different Types Of Roses

The different types of roses that are available to purchase is astounding, there appears to be a lot more rose species to choose from than any type of flower, plant or shrub. One can have a very difficult time trying to choose what type of rose to give to someone, or what type of rose is best to plant in the garden.

The type of rose one eventually decides to choose always come down to personal choice. This is true with all choices one has to make in life. So, as long as you know the different types of roses that one can choose from, you can make your own decision as to what you like best.

A lot of people quite often opt for the most popular choice of rose that is available for sale. The hybrid tea rose is the variety which is an extremely popular choice with most people. It is this rose that is commonly found for sale in flower and florist shops throughout the year, and especially so on St. Valentines Day. These beautiful roses are usually sold by the stem. They have long, slender stems and large rose buds which open out into a huge blooms. Out of all the different types of roses to choose from, these types of rose are one of the easiest to care for. They are also available in a wide range of colors.

Another very popular rose is the floribunda variety. For a long time these roses were known under a different name, they were known as hybrid polyanthas. About 50 to 60 years ago the name was changed to floribunda, and it is this name that these roses are now commonly known. The floribunda rose is a smaller variety of rose which does not grow as tall as the tea rose varieties, and they also produce smaller blooms. The blooms of this rose are usually found in clusters too.

Another small variety of rose are the miniature roses. They are not only miniature in height, but also in leaf size, bud size and flower size. Out of all the different types of roses available these are the smallest, in fact some of the flower sizes are as small as a couple of centimeters to around ten centimeters. This species of rose is very good if you are short of yard space, as they are easily grown in containers. They are also ideal for growing indoors.
